FAQs - The Trouble Shooting Guide!

The Background Fairy backgrounds are super easy to install. However, if you find that you have any diffculty getting your background to display properly, please read the most common problems below, for a fast and easy fix.

1)Why isn't my new background lining up correctly with my blog? The number one mistake that I see people make when adding the backgrounds, is that they don't have their blogger template set to the standard "Minima" template. 90% of the time if someone is having trouble with their backgrounds in any way, this is what it is. Minima comes in many variations, including stretch etc. These variations will not work properly, it must be the standard version of Minima for your background to line up correctly.

2)I like to change my backgrounds often, if I add one of your backgrounds to my blog, do I need to delete it before changing to another one? Yes, you do. If you don't, the first background will continue to display.

3)Can I remove the little advertising tag that links to your site in the upper left corner? No, I'm afraid the tag must stay in place. I do work quite hard on these backgrounds and then give them away so that anyone can have an opportunity to dress up their blog. In exchange for using my backgrounds for free, you agree to displaying my tag.

4)Please help, your background fairy tag is not displaying properly in the corner. Did I do something wrong? If you are not seeing the tag, and a red x is displaying in it's place, this is caused by not fully copying and pasting the entire code for your new background. If you leave out even a single letter or character, your background and/or my tag will not display properly. Simply delete the code and try it again!

5)If I have a custom blog that someone else made for me, should I back up my blog first before adding one your backgrounds? I would certainly recommend backing up your professionally made blog before making any changes to it for any reason. Particularly if you have paid a lot of money to have your blog made over, you will want to protect your investment by saving it, in case you want to reinstall it later. In order to do this, simply click on "customize" at the top of your blog's screen, then click "Edit HTML" and then click "Download Full Template".
